In: Xbox 360
29 May 2009No matter how attentive we are with our video game purchases, we are all acquainted with the mark. THE mark. THAT mark. The one that rendered our wonderful game all but unsuitable for being played. Sometimes the mark is the outcome of excessively eager dogs or careless kids. In those occasions it tends to be very noticeable, covers much of the game’s surface and we are lucky if our Xbox 360 can yet read the game. In other occasions though the mark is so small, so difficult to spot that we are mystified as to how it could possibly have terminated the playable lifespan of our software.

Video game discs aren’t like instrumental CD’s or film DVD’s. They hold much higher concentration levels of information, all of which may need to be retrieved at any given location. If our friend the mark happens to have impaired a particularly delicate area in the disk, say an area that needs to be picked up often in order to progress, our game is, for all effects, incapable of being played. The worst thing relating to this is there’s no real way to stay clear from them. A disk can look like it has been used to clean a sharpening stone and all the same be playable as another can have an almost unnoticeable mark brought about by the Xbox 360 itself and become incapable of functioning. The only genuine resolution is to play 360 backup games.
A backup is simply a duplicate we create of a game. It is completely legal as long as we own the software in question and exclusively use it ourselves. By producing a copy we can save the original disks in a safe place, thus making sure they stay playable for the extent of the console’s lifetime. It is relatively uncomplicated to create a copy, all it takes is a special piece of software. Heck, these days a Mod chip isn’t even necessary to play 360 backup games.
The software utility I’m currently using is able to make backups of Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 3, PS2, Nintendo Wii, Gamecube, PC, Dreamcast dvd discs, DVD movies and series and as a bonus: it creates DVD videos of your DivX, Xvid, MP4 and other formats!
